Prelude

Words of Preparation:   Joy to the World is a song we sing at Christmas.  But,...did you realize, it is based on Psalm 98 and celebrates God at work in the world,....so it's not just a Christmas song, but and every day song.
Hymn of Praise:Red Book number 125....Joy to the World.....stanzas 1, 2, and 3
Call to Worship:

(based on Psalm 98, John 15:9-17)
Leader:  Here today there is love, freely available to all.
Not our human loving, fragile and intermittent,
but God’s supreme love.
People:  May a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth,
break forth into joyous songs of praise.
Leader:  Here today is love, higher than our loftiest hopes,
deeper than the immensities of time and space,
God’s inclusive love.
People:  Let the seas roar their praise,
and everything in them.
Let the rivers clap their hands
and the hills sing together their happiness.
Leader:  The joy of the living Christ Jesus be with you all.
People:  And also with you.

Invocation:
(The following prayer is a suggestion.  It is here to use or the liturgist may compose their own.)
Holy and mysterious Lover of the world,
let this day be a worthy celebration of our Lord’s resurrection love.
By the Easter good news,
encourage us to put away our worries, and to discard our fears,
that with minds open to your Spirit
we may better love you and more adequately worship your holy name.
Through Christ Jesus, our living brother and Lord.
Amen!

Morning Prayer
You do not give up
You do not give up
on the fractured
or the shattered
or the dying
or the dead
You do not give up
on the fearful
or the hateful
or the impossible
You do not give up
when there is no heartbeat left
or no heart at all
You do not give up
You do not leave us for dead
Thank god.
